Location: Stables, Record Park Office - Cluj.

“If you look long enough through the blue glass, someone will die. Not completely, not without hope – after all, death does not exist – but those you look at, they will no longer be among us. You will no longer be able to touch them, kiss them, smell the scent of their hair or their neck, you will not be able to take their hand, ask them something, look into their eyes. […] They are looking at us and they are waving, they saw us. Maybe there, on the other side of the world, they are having fun and it is beautiful. Maybe they play with the ball or maybe they just steer airboats over our garden, dipping their arms in the warm air and plucking flowers with long stems, pulling the petals one by one for fortune-telling. Why wouldn’t they try to predict the future? Maybe on that side of the blue glass, we seem gray and thoughtful, narrow-minded and inaccessible. I do not know. But the blue window is the window of the broken heart and no one should look through it for too long.”

– Tatiana Tolstaia, “Lumi eterice”, Curtea Veche Publishing, 2019

On 7th of April 2020 – the year of the Covid pandemic, during home quarantine, we launched the Expandable Exhibition online and my website, The Yellow Mushroom, writing:

“We were going to inaugurate my first exhibition (…) and it was the moment when I went out into the world with my most intimate thoughts. Then came the period of isolation, and the exhibition could no longer be available to the public. Not in the gallery. The catalog was a project as intimate and dear. It would not be printed now. Not on paper. But I decided to publish it online. Now, in April, as intended. To honor me and you, those who will have a reaction or an emotion when viewing the exhibition.”

“The ones who survive with a measure of happiness are those who can live profoundly off their intellectual resources, as hibernating animals live off their fat.” – American arctic explorer and pioneer Richard Byrd (What We Can Learn From Polar Explorers for Surviving Months of Isolation).

Less than a year later, without explaining in words the impact and events of the year, I am preparing the Voids Exhibition. The things we all do are born of an inner void that generates flows in us and outside us, corresponding with the universe and the world. I filled these voids with art. We look at each of them through the blue glass, and they answer us.

Just make art, any kind of art!
